Dubai International Chamber opens new Karachi office to boost trade ties with Pakistan
This initiative advances Dubai’s drive to build 50 global offices by 2030
DUBAI – The Dubai International Chamber has opened a new international representative office in Karachi to strengthen trade and investment relations between Dubai and Pakistan.
The launch aligns with the objectives of the ‘Dubai Global’ initiative, which aims to establish 50 international offices by 2030. The initiative seeks to position Dubai as a leading global business hub by attracting foreign direct investment and supporting the expansion of Dubai-based companies into 30 priority markets.
The office was inaugurated during a ceremony attended by Dr Bakheet Ateeq Alremeithi, Consul General of the United Arab Emirates in Karachi, together with senior business representatives from Pakistan. The opening adds momentum to the growing economic relationship between the two markets.
UAE-Pakistan trade
According to Dubai Chambers, Dubai’s non-oil trade with Pakistan reached Dh22.8 billion in 2024. Registration of Pakistani companies in Dubai has risen sharply, with active membership at the Dubai Chamber of Commerce increasing by 161% between early 2022 and the end of Q3 2025, reaching a total of 33,110 companies. During the first nine months of 2025, 6,850 new Pakistani companies joined the chamber.
Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah, President and CEO of Dubai Chambers, said the opening of the Karachi office reflects a firm commitment to broadening bilateral cooperation and creating new paths for trade and investment flows. He emphasised the role of the office in enabling Pakistani businesses to tap into emerging opportunities in Dubai.
The new office will work closely with Pakistan’s public and private sector stakeholders to strengthen business links and highlight Dubai’s competitive advantages. It will also deliver market intelligence to support Pakistani companies seeking to establish operations in Dubai or use the emirate as a launchpad for global expansion.
Expansion opportunities
Dubai-based companies aiming to enter the Pakistani market will gain access to expert insights and local guidance through the new office. Services include identifying commercial and investment opportunities and connecting businesses with trusted partners to facilitate market entry and expansion.
